Stream-of-conscious writing, maybe. Most writing also involves editing: putting it in the right order, paragraphs, structure, etc. Some of it is done beforehand. In Kat's example, knowing you'll end with a cliffhanger and writing "towards" it, I see as a form of editing. I think "kiddy play" as Tobias describes it completely lacks any form of editing or structurising.
