Two different groups, and never the twain shall meet? I paid money for your game, I don't think you're an amateur. I think there's a spectrum of experience, in some ways, rather than separate groups. Maybe I'm wrong.

You also say there's no condemnation, but your joke about second-tier playtesting says otherwise, doesn't it? I read something, too, into the fact that you are a "designer" and I was a "worker," but that's probably just me being me.

Anyway, I don't think I was being disingenuous, but if you got that impression I'll take responsibility for it since I'm the author of my comments. I'm sorry I came across that way. I thought I had things to learn from your post and comment, so I applied it to my experiences as an independent designer and tried to understand why you chose the language you chose. If that's verboten, fair enough. It's your post. I guess I'm welcome to comment as long as I understand that my opinion is irrelevant? I'm a little confused there.

Rereading your comments, Ben, I guess you think it was lowly of me not to include my last name? Maybe? I left it off because I thought it was more casual and, really, didn't give it much thought. Sorry if that seemed disingenuous.

Again, I apologize for distracting from the topic at hand. I came back here to lurk because I'm genuinely interested in this discussion. I'll stop commenting when you stop talking about me.
