I can't speak objectively to the usability of the text because I'm biased (learned to play first from the designer) but I've had no problem running it. That said, when I try to get people to play, I find that I'm successful 1 out of 3 times and the reason people often don't want to play seems to have very little to do with the game itself (people new to RPGs are all for it). I suspect (can't confirm) the same may be true for threads attacking the game's playtesting. It's possibly less about playtesting and more about hidden agendas with playtesting as a convenient avenue to attack someone to progress identity politics. People may not be actually arguing what they are arguing about. Which can get toxic pretty fast.
