This is why, in Rock of Tahamaat and all of my games, the mechanics kick in precisely when there might come to be strains and competing interests between the players. When there aren't, negotiating and renegotiating the connections directly is easy. When there are, they aren't.

Anyway, it IS a whole big conversation. I hate to be all "I'll talk to you about it after you've read these one million billion words we've already written on the subject," but at least there's dragon-slaying, corpse-fucking, salamander egg addicts, frickin' fairy effluvia, and giant magic swords in it. It's fun reading.
