I really like Sam Smiley's book "Playwriting". From that book he defines "Crisis" and "Conflict" as follows (in the Priciples of Drama chapter).
Crisis: a period of time when two or more forces struggle and the outcome is uncertain; causes a reversal; often involves dilemma, decision and conflict; contains rising emotion
Conflict: a clash between forces, characters, or aspects of one character; antagonism that results in hostility, argument, or physical struggle
