Pretty much everything I know about gaming, I learned from about one quarter of Keith Johnstone's Impro, and my agenda for learning more about gaming is figuring out the other half.

He's got this long, long chapter on what he calls Mask play, and which gamers might call immersion. It's from the three-quarters I don't fully understand. Maybe you should read it and explain it to me...?

This makes VB go "just ordered it from Amazon."
I've been meaning to for a while, I've heard enough about it. No promises to explain it, though. If you don't understand it, I figure I won't too.

This makes BR go "Mo will be getting into that, I'm sure"
She's a trained improv and dramatic theatre actor, and she's talking to me alot recently about masks and channeling and such, so I'll bet money this stuff will show up in a future post.

This makes NK go ""
If you read the book, the stuff he says makes me go "yes, yes, yes", but by "understanding", I mean "know how to apply to a game". That's something I bet you would be DAMN good at.

This makes MH go "Everyone should read Impro."
As in, everyone. Not just all role-players. It's magic, I'm going to reread it tonight.

This makes PJD go "Just finished Impro for Storytellers..."
See linky for tarting, also old daedalus article (which needs 23 tons of rewriting)
