Didn't realize what a can of worms I was opening up. One comment- it looks like you and Ron have a well defined concept which Sim describes, but that many people want there to be a third functional approach to gaming, or believe they are enjoying something that is not Gamist or Narrativist, and are trying to redefine Sim as this third cool thing.
