So, there's been a lot of suggestion about creating ones own forums or discussions on theory and the like.

Anyway, I set up a Vanilla play area, for those who want to see what the Forge might look like if done up with another tool.  If you're thinking about doing your own thing, and want to see what vanilla looks like up close, then feel free to go sign in and try to break stuff.

This makes JAK go "Oh, Awesome!"
I didn't realize it at the time, but there's user categories: Banned, Administrator, Power User, etc. Anyway, there's one called "Douchebag". You can grant access to categories based on user categories, so you could like keep 'Douchebags' or 'Fuckwits' (you can create your own user categories) out of Theory, and give 'Forge Twunts' higher levels of theory access, etc. :)

This makes CRN go "Categories"
The fact that "douchebag" is actually a default category is so awesome. Also, if I remember correctly, "douchebags" don't know that you've labeled them as such.

This makes misuba go "That's hot"
but there's more that could be done. Search for Clay Shirky's essay "Group as User."

This makes JAK go "Guest User Accounts"
I also threw some guest accounts on the site with passwords in case you don't want to bother to register yourself. Site'll come down in about two weeks. But man, I'm liking what I see. A lot. At least, in regards to a few discussion boards that I'm managing.
