I think we're concentrating too strongly on flags as pull techniques. Really, they're just techniques that say "push me here."
Good pull techniques take someone else's push and run with it, enthusiastically, into new heights. What games encourage this and how?

This makes SLB go "Techniques or ephemera?"
Flags are techniques. I'm thinking & talking about ephemera. Are the words "push" and "pull" going to refer to techniques or ephemera? We haven't decided that yet, and we will need to, eventually.
By the way, I'm Metal Fatigue. I just don't like the initials MF, so I use my real initials.
This makes BL go "Hi SLB"
Techniques. Definitely technique level. We're talking about processes of play, not single instances.
This makes SLB go "But..."
But Vincent and Mo are talking about ephemera, too, as I read it.
Maybe if you want to talk about technique, you could say "pushy technique" or "pull-y technique," i.e., a technique which produces the desired ephemera?
This makes BL go "Of course"
There is no way to talk about techniques other than "technique which produces desired ephemera." That said, Vincent and Mo are both talking about techniques. If we want to continue this discussion, e-mail me at taogames@gmail.com
