I'm not trying to be snarky. I just want to know more about the mental state you describe by the conjunction of "I don't know what it is" (implied by asking what it is) and "I know why people have it."

People have it because they are affraid to try anything else. They're holding on to the only thing they feel validates their presence at the table. What I don't understand is how that looks in Actual Play. What are the behaviors that someone who has My Guy Syndrome exhibits?
