There are no area effect weapons in the game. That's because it's about heroic combat. The closest thing that could happen is that, in hand-to-hand, a model could throw an enemy into another model, knocking them both down (which we've never made explicit, V., but I think that's how it should work)

But I have grown to understand the awesomeness of Risk. Computerized play helps a lot. Speeds things up.

As an aside, there was a broken thing in the Risk version I had as a kid on my Mac Plus where, if you had one guy left, he was fucking unstoppable. He had like a 90% chance of success in a fight.

I accept that other people like Risk. I preferred Shogun by a long shot: more tension, better map, more connections to other regions. Also, it had castles and a ninja!
