Hey Jeff.

The burden's on you if - and only if - you think it's worth the effort.

If you do, great, I'll help out the best I can.

Given that terms like "Lumpley Principle" are in-jokey and therefore exclusionary, what's gained by adhering to them that outweighs the benefits resulting from using plain-English (or at least more communicative) terms? It's like having Mass in Latin instead of vulgate.

This makes lpl go "Um, the vulgate IS in Latin"
The Vulgate is the "people's Latin" translation of the Bible.

This makes JW go "Doh!"

This makes lpl go "Hey, 'salright. I get your meaning."

This makes Chris go "LP= in plain english"
The way by which the gaming group decides which imaginary stuff actually happens vs. what doesn't (perhaps and perhaps not following the written rules for doing so). "System" is not used, simply because this process may or may not be formalized mechanics. (Do you want to write all that everytime you're referring to that specific process? This is why we come up with shorthand terms)

This makes Chris go "(And, also)"
Though typically Forgies will also understand that "System" doesn't necessarily mean the written stuff, but what actually happens in play, LP is a very specific subset of play. (deep breath).
