and this might just be me being a freewheeling debauched immoral eurpoean, but when did sensual equate sexual?

slap me vincent if this is out of place, just make sure it is gender neutral and without overtones when you do so.

This makes MB go "<--- Yes!!"
Even Tovey, our 4 month old, is sensual!

This makes SF! go "Yes, babies!"
My two-year-old is totally sensual: run up, quick hug, run off; sit in lap to read a book; get tired, cuddle up; "feed me!"; "carry you, Daddy!" (not too good on those pronouns, yet). Sensual does not equal sexual, which our ad-soaked society tends to forget.

This makes JS go "Indeed."
I love sensual; I'm a veritable hug junkie. And art appreciation--even if it's a woman, even if it's a naked one, doesn't mean appreciation is sexual. Sometimes is, sometimes isn't. This is a sensibility that is atrophied in our society.

This makes ksb go "thanks"
so this whole thing is just geeks confusing the two? phew.

This makes RE go "More than that, KSB"
They're addicted to self-righteousness and also to displaying public indignation. I could have posted "snow job" in some conversation somewhere, and you'd be seeing 100 blogs freaking out about my having said "blow job." It's not confusion. It's ego and posturing, using their squeamishness about sex as a motor.

This makes MSW go "so then..."
anybody playing with anybody is a sensual experience, right?

This makes AG go "No, the word has two long-standing meanings"
The primary meaning has to do with gratification of the senses and indulgence of appetites, but sexuality is a common secondary meaning.

This makes WMW go "Matt, insert"
'potentially' into your comment and we're good. I think part of the strife is over whether it's OK to manifest that potential and when.

This makes VB go "this is very funny!"
Does one of you have someplace where you can actually have this conversation, or do you need me to make a front-page post about it?

This makes VB go "I made a post after all."
