This reminds me, a friend recently played a very interesting way...
He made a very large mobile-tank mech. Think "Ghost in the Shell".

He gave each of it's four legs two white dice, one green die, two blue, and one red HtH/Direct.  He Gave the central cockpit two white, one green (so it could keep up), one blue, and red 2d6,d8 direct fire.

He could only move the mech as far as the model allowed each leg to move on it's turn, without moving the rest of the model.  It was very intimidating to have this giant mech contantly moving and firing.

It was also hard for him to move the stupid thing, so he's working on a better design.

Vincent and I discussed this at one point. It's actually a terrible disadvantage, since your movement ??? so critical in the game ??? is choked by your slowest leg and latest initiative.

I like the OGRE option, too, but we need to figure out how to make it work satisfyingly.

just wondering: how many inches is a hex?

just for clarification: the 3 ranges are Hth, direct fire, and artillery. how many hexes are each?
