2009-03-25 : Keep Weeping, O Children of the Galaxy

The words of Estella Mercifé Regina Aestatis, Presumed Empress of Galactic Core and Galaxy Entire; and of Limen Mercifé Rex Aestatis, Presumed Emperor of Galactic Core and Galaxy Entire; speaking together as Duarch Entire Assumptant:

Well, O Children of Every Sun, We guess keep weeping, because when you're already behind, keeping pace means falling further.

Made bold by their corrupt beliefs and negligent of the galactic peace, the sinister Sisterhood of Taw revealed their true mercenary agenda and grabbed for control of Our Precious and Holy Smoke. We can take comfort from the fact that ultimately human potential will prevail over their perversions but We wish it were happening already. "Ultimately" seems kind of far away just now.

Here

is a propaganda-laden but, um, correct account of the battle, by Rob of the detestable Kalik Federation. Joshua's remarks here are particularly libelous. However, regarding this Our conscience is clear and We're confident We'll be acquitted by a court of Our galactic monarch peers.

(Previously: Dunesque Mechaton Campaign, ... battle 1 setup, Weep, O Children of Every Sun, and ... battle 2 setup.)

At the end of the battle:
Joshua, the Sisterhood of Taw: 84 vp, +1 control of Smoke
Who controls the August Solar Throne? 168 (2 x 84)
Who controls the flow of Smoke? 168 (2 x 84)
Who holds absolute moral authority? 168 (2 x 84)

Rob, the Kalik Federation: 64 vp
Who controls the August Solar Throne? 192 (3 x 64)
Who controls the flow of Smoke? 128 (2 x 64)
Who holds absolute moral authority? 64 (1 x 64)

Vincent, the House Aestatis: 50 vp
Who controls the August Solar Throne? 150 (3 x 50)
Who controls the flow of Smoke? 50 (1 x 50)
Who holds absolute moral authority? 50 (1 x 50)

So:
Rob's winning the throne, 192 to 168 to 150
Joshua's winning the flow of smoke, 168 to 128 to 50
Joshua's winning moral authority, 168 to 64 to 50

Yeah, "Not posing the most immediate threat" is an interesting position to be in. Thanks, Ben.

Rob, I'd like to point out to you that Vincent's a mere 14 victory points away from taking the control of the throne from you.

Just sayin'.

Bah. The throne isn't a big deal to me.

Hey, that's cool. That will put you in the lead on *nothing* then.

Someone imaginary just emailed me:

Dear Vincent,

I haven't played a Mechaton campaign so maybe I'm missing something. Is Joshua giving good advice to Rob? Is there some reason that Rob might WANT to let Joshua win and fight with you for second place instead?

Sincerely,
an imaginary curious person

Dear imaginary curious person,

Nope.

Sincerely,
Vincent
